The Durant School was one of the earlier projects by the Jackson firm, N. W. Overstreet and Associates in 1942. The school’s front facade is organized by strict symmetry. The central mass is flanked on either end by one story, horizontal wings. The central mass is two stories tall with large columns faming three entrance doors on the ground floor and a band of windows along the second floor. The facade of the school is white stucco with large bands of glass.
