The Jax-Lite Home, located in the Eastover neighborhood of Jackson, MS, was built in 1955. Built entirely out of concrete, the home served as a model for concrete and masonry construction, according to an article in the State Times. Architect Harry Haas designed the home. The roof of the home features thin concrete beams that establish a rhythm and order for the home. Openings, door, and windows align to that grid. Large windows and openings create a light feeling in the home, despite the heavy properties of its construction.
